St Nics' Christian Preschool (SNCP) has been purpose built and is due to open June 2017.

Established as a ministry of St Nicolas' Anglican Church, Coogee, we are committed to providing excellent preschool educational programs within a Christian framework, ensuring teachers and educators receive quality professional development to equip and inspire them.

We have positions available for Early Childhood Teachers, Diploma, Certificate III, Trainee and Chef 

All Staff will: 

  • Build and maintain respectful and supportive relationships with children and families 
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with team members 
  • Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to at all times 
  • Work with the hours of the preschool and attend monthly meetings after hours 
  • Contribute to building the Preschool Christian community, participate in social events, including attendance at special Preschool services at St Nicolas' Anglican Church (once a term). 

ECT and Diploma staff will: 

  • Assess the needs of each child, monitor their progress and ensure children are given best start for formal schooling 
  • Ensure Christian elements are embedded into the Preschool curriculum, such as Bible stories, Christian songs and music, and prayer including Grace before meals 
  • Ensure that a developmentally and educationally appropriate program is planned and implemented for each child 
  • Ensure school readiness areas are embedded into the curriculum, such as independence and social skills, literacy and numeracy 
  • Ensure sustainability practices are embedded into the curriculum 
  • Take on all Responsible Person duties as required 
  • Supervise children at all times 
  • Provide supervision and assistance to other Educators in the room 

Certificate III and Trainees will: 

  • Contribute in the delivery of our curriculum 
  • Contribute ideas for setting up creative and inspiring learning environments 
  • Supervise children at all times 
  • Assist in day-to-day set up and support of the children's daily routines, meeting their individual needs 

Chef will: 

  • Prepare healthy nutritious meals for up to 60 children daily and ensure meals are delivered on time to respective groups 
  • Cater for children with special dietary requirements 
  • Prepare menu for 4 week rotation using seasonal fruit and vegetables, and maintain supplies weekly

All applicants are required to be permitted to work in Australia, Approved ACECQA Qualifications for position applied for and current working with children check.
