Scholarship position 2018-19

Background

Blakehurst Anglican Church (BAC) is located in the St. George region of Southern Sydney.  It lies on a peninsular surrounded by Kyle Bay, Kogarah Bay and the Georges River.

Although the suburb is primarily residential, our church and the local public school (Bald Face Public school) are the focal points of the area.  As a church we have an excellent relationship with Bald Face Public school, involved in SRE and invited to run assembly services for Easter, Christmas, and even Education week!

BAC has a vibrant and burgeoning children’s ministry that consist of a discipleship program for children and families on Sundays and outreach programs to the local community during the week, i.e. Mini Marty’s (0–5yrs), KidsPlus (K–Y3), Marty’s (Y4–Y6).  We currently have approximately 70 kids from the local school that attend KidsPlus and Marty’s on Fridays afternoons.

Over the last couple of years we have been developing a pathway from our children’s ministry into our growing youth ministry, Anchor (Y6–Y12).

At the beginning of 2017 we employed Yoke Yen Lee as our full-time Children’s Pastor having completed an MTS scholarship with us.  For more information about BAC, please see http://www.blakehurstanglican.org.au
