Doug Marr has been named as the Registrar of the Diocese of Sydney.

Archbishop Glenn Davies announced to Standing Committee that he had invited Mr Marr to succeed Dr Philip Selden who is retiring at the end of October 2013.

"Mr Marr is well known to many Standing Committee members, and has great experience and fine personal qualities which make him well suited to the role" Dr Davies said.

Mr Marr has extensive financial credentials. He holds a Bachelor of Business, is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Corporate Managers.

He served for many years as Bursar and then Director of Property Planning at Moore College, and is currently the Executive Officer and Company Secretary of Hamlin Fistula Australia Limited.

Dr Davies said Mr Marr "currently is or has been a member of many diocesan committees as well as those associated with the Anglican Church of Australia and its GeneralSynod. I look forward to the contribution that he will make to our diocese, as he begins the role in November 2013."
