Anglicans in semi-rural Mulgoa have transferred land damaged in the 2002 bushfires to the Sydney Anglican Schools Corporation (SASC) for $1.43million.

SASC plans to build a new low-fee primary school on the site while the parish plans to use the proceeds to build a multi-purpose ministry centre in the fast-growing suburb of Silverdale.

The historic St Thomas' church is situated on the land, along with an old hall and disused rectory, which has extensive fire damage. Regular services will still be held at the church.

While a development application has not yet been sought,  it is proposed that the school will commence as a "primary feeder' for Penrith Anglican College, said SASC CEO Dr Laurie Scandrett.
