Running a London marathon

Russell Powell

The marathon, the Olympics....everything is happening in London.

My weekly round up has been missing in action for the past two weeks as I and 200 others attended the marathon that was the London leaders conference of the Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans.

Many more could have been invited but the venue, St Mark's, Battersea Rise, was packed to the gunwales already. Journos had a hard time getting their heads around it. For some we were dissidents and breakaways, despite the repeated assurances that FCA is within the Anglican communion, not outside it.

One outlet, the Telegraph, continues to impress. No newspaper is perfect, but its reporting was largely accurate and it covers religion news seriously. It is the best way to keep up with what is happening in the Church of England and Christianity in society generally. I wish we had an equivalent in Australia.  I hope it doesn't disappear behind a paywall like so many other papers.

Church Times and Church of England Newspaper covered the story too but you can see most of the material directly from the conference website. Our own Archbishop's address to the service at Westminster is well worth a listen.

You can also play spot the Aussie in the Leaders Conference Slideshow below.
