Families Minister

St John's Anglican Church
Location: North Ryde, NSW
Date advertised: 1st December 2020
Job Type: Part time
Closing Date: 22 December 2020 or when position filled

St John's is seeking to partner with a mission minded Families Minister commencing in 2021.

We are looking to engage a gifted male pastor with God given gifts that have been clearly demonstrated in previous mission and secular contexts. You must have a passion for the glory of Jesus, a heart for the lost, skills of the evangelist, and the capacity to both recruit, resource and deploy missional teams.

You will be joining John Chappell, Simon Pei, Michael Yip, Lauren King and Rachel Shen with a particular focus of disciple making amongst our large family missional connection footprint, anticipated to be over 1000 new connections in 2021 - individuals who have attended an onsite gospel event and expressed a desire for ongoing connection.

Our team culture celebrates answered prayer, commitment to design, implementation and review of both personal and team plans. We expect and resource life-long learning. We celebrate and embrace our cultural diversity - and are praying that the Lord may raise up a bilingual English / Mandarin or English / Hindi pastor - but all are welcome to apply.

A full job description is available on application. Whilst some flexibility will be possible, anticipate Sunday fortnightly preaching, mid week night time bible studies, Thursday AM SRE, Friday afternoon / night children and youth team support coupled with parent outreach. We run an annual children's July program with over 500 in attendance, and a December NTE mission partnership with Macquarie CU. You may also be involved in our MTS program.

Applicants should have experience with a database system and regular reporting - e.g. Elvanto or similar. Ideally you will be able to demonstrate deployment, oversight and increased missional capacity through the use of such a tool.

The package is valued at $80K which equates to 4 days per week with housing as per the Sydney Diocesan Guidelines.

Please contact Rev. John Chappell via email john.chappell@optusnet.com.au or via mobile 0403 812 782.

All applications are treated with the strictest of confidentiality. Whilst not essential, it maybe beneficial to forward an application/resume in advance.
