Are you passionate about seeing the next generation come to know and follow Jesus? Do you have a heart for evangelism, discipleship, and team leadership? Pittwater Anglican Church is seeking a dynamic and committed Youth Minister to lead and grow our youth ministry on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
About Pittwater Anglican Church:
We are located on the Northern Peninsula of the Northern Beaches, (Summer Bay) where Home and Away is filmed. We are blessed with 3 church sites, in Avalon Beach, Mona Vale and Palm Beach, with 6 congregations currently meeting on a weekly basis. We long to see our local community come to know and trust Jesus, and are actively at work to reach people in our local communities through varied evangelistic opportunities.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for leading our growing Friday night Neon Youth group, integrating youth into our wider church community, and coordinating Special Religious Education (SRE) in two local high schools (Barrenjoey and Pittwater High Schools). This is a gospel-centred role focused on reaching unchurched young people with the good news of Jesus, and discipling Christian youth in their faith.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop Neon Youth, creating a welcoming, fun, and Christ-centred environment for teenagers to hear and respond to the gospel.
- Build and train a team of volunteer youth leaders, fostering a culture of prayerful dependence, gospel conviction, and relational discipleship.
- Coordinate and teach SRE in two local high schools, working alongside other SRE teachers to ensure faithful, engaging Bible teaching that links students to local Christian faith communities.
- Partner with families and the broader church to support young people in their walk with Jesus and equip families to lead their children in their faith in Jesus.
- Contribute to the wider mission and ministry of Pittwater Anglican Church, working with our existing ministry team to see “A Northern Beaches that Knows Jesus”.
- 3Serve in one or more of our weekly congregations to link youth into our wider church family.
About You:
You are a mature Christian with a love for Jesus, a passion for youth ministry, and experience in evangelism and leadership. You communicate the gospel clearly, build strong relationships, and are excited by the opportunity to reach and disciple young people in the local community. You have or are currently completing theological studies in a reformed evangelical tradition and want to put that education to good use to see young people put their faith in Jesus and grow in him.
Remuneration:
A stipend and associated benefits and allowances will be provided according to the Sydney Anglican Diocese remuneration guidelines. Details will be discussed with candidates during the application process.
