BCA – Going the distance

Founded in 1919, Bush Church Aid (BCA) is a Christian missionary organisation, working with the Anglican Church and other Christian organisations, focused on gospel ministry around the country.

BCA has a heart for people living in remote, rural and regional Australia. We are committed to going the distance to reach Australia for Christ.

We seek a keen Christian with a passion for supporting ministry in rural Australia to fill the role of Personal Assistant to the National Director.

This is a part-time (0.6 FTE), in-office position, based in the Sydney CBD.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the National Director while working closely with the Executive Assistant and other key office staff members to achieve the ministry goals of Bush Church Aid.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in an administration office role or a personal assistant role. An existing understanding of the Anglican Church structure, culture and mission and experience in working in not-for-profits is desirable but not essential. We value the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Advanced computer literacy, organisation skills and a capacity to problem solve and prioritise workloads are essential.

The key outcome for this role is to enable the efficient functioning of the National Director's Office by providing proactive administrative support which enables the National Director to focus on their key responsibilities and outcomes.

This is achieved through:

  1. Timely management and prioritisation of the National Director’s day-to-day administrative needs, in particular appointments, diary and calendar coordination and travel management.
  2. The prompt and effective completion of administrative processes involved with the daily running of the National Office, in particular, making and receiving phone calls, fielding and directing various enquiries and supporting other teams in the National Office.
  3. Collaborating with the Executive Assistant to achieve joint goals and outcomes to ensure smooth and efficient office processes, functions and events.
