Assistant Minister

St Annes Anglican Ryde
Location: Ryde, NSW
Date advertised: 25th June 2025
Job Type: Full time
Closing Date: 4th August 2025

About Us

St Annes Anglican Church is:

A family brought together by our Lord

From many different backgrounds

Worshipping God has Christian disciples,

Loving each other in every Neighbour,

and sharing the good news of Jesus with the city of Ryde and beyond.

St Annes is situated in a vibrant and multicultural city. Our church has excellent facilities and a membership who are excited to build on the recent growth we have seen over the last 3 years. With the 200th birthday of our church building, 2026 presents an amazing opportunity for outreach and mission.

St Annes has three Sunday services: an 8am prayerbook service, a 10am English speaking service and a 10am Mandarin speaking service. There are ministries to children focussed on Preschoolers and Primary School kids on Sundays and a youth group on Fridays. We reach out the community around us with a Playgroup, English speaking classes, Anglicare Mobile Food Pantry and a monthly Community Service Hub.

The Role

We are seeking an Assistant Minister who will help lead our church forward in fulfilling the above vision. While the role will involve serving across a range of ministries, the primary focuses will be in the leadership of our 10am English Congregation and youth ministries.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Shaping mission pathways that connect with the local community and draw in families, youth, and young adults with the good news of Jesus
  • Leading and strengthening our welcoming culture to ensure newcomers feel at home and connected
  • Encouraging every member ministry, helping people discover and use their gifts to serve God and one another
  • Raising up and training leaders for sustainable and growing ministry
  • Fostering a vibrant, international and intergenerational church community where all generations worship and grow together
  • Building engaging and creative Sunday services that encourage worship, growth, and outreach

It should be a pretty fun and active role, perfect for someone looking to hone the sort of skills it takes to lead a church in the future.

About You

  • Evidence of a life of personal (and if appropriate, family) discipleship in following Jesus
  • Demonstrated personal and professional commitment to see the gospel grow in Australia
  • Proven capability to lead and train others.
  • Loves working in a team
  • Experienced in pastoral ministry
  • Ability to work in an ethnically diverse church across all ages.
  • High level communications skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in theology, bible and mission
  • Australian Resident
  • A current NSW drivers’ license
