Christ Church Northern Beaches is nestled on Sydney’s vibrant Northern Beaches, adjacent to the serene Manly Dam (just west of Manly Beach). Our church, while small, is committed to spreading the gospel of Jesus throughout our suburb, and has seen some growth, especially among children and youth post-Covid.
Our congregation spans a wide range of ages, from 8 months to those in their 80s, and they are known for their warm welcome and care for others. Their passion is for Christ and his kingdom, and their vision is to see our church flourish under the guidance of the Lord Jesus.
A pivotal challenge facing our church is the state of our facilities, requiring significant attention from the senior minister in 2025 for redevelopment. Consequently, we are seeking an individual who can share the preaching and teaching responsibilities from 2025 and 2026. Initially a 2-year role, there is potential for extension beyond this period.
The Assistant Minister role encompasses:
Sunday Ministries
Leading and preaching at our morning service
Assisting in developing an evening service in 2025
Overseeing the teens programs on Sunday mornings
Training Leaders
Mentoring and equipping youth leaders for their roles in our youth program (Catalyst on Friday Nights)
Collaborating with the senior minister for our February training month
Contributing to the training of our SRE (Special Religious Education) teachers, including participation in the SRE conference
Evangelism
Coordinating our SRE Funday at church
Helping to organise carols at our local school
Teaching a couple of SRE classes
Preaching and leading at Café Church Nights
With the senior minister, following-up those responding to the gospel
Remuneration will be according to the Sydney Anglican diosean guidelines, but can be negotiated in the interview.
