Job Type: Full time, Temporary/Contract
Closing Date: 29 July 2020

Are you someone who loves Jesus, seeks adventure in the outdoors and believes that not all lessons are best taught in the classroom?  Are you just as passionate about Christian ministry to young people as you are about adventurous experiences in God’s creation?

Youthworks is seeking Christian Outdoor Education Trainees to join our COE team. Youthworks Christian Outdoor Education has been providing adventure programs for over 30 years and leads the way in professional Christian outdoor education.  Through the practise of temporary community, our passionate, enthusiastic and highly skilled team use outdoor learning experiences to bring together bible-based discipleship and outdoor education in a unique and powerful way. With programs impacting over 20,000 students a year, the choice to join the Youthworks team will see you maximise the opportunities for God to use you as part of our mission that sees young people oriented for life.

This role will see you learn on the job as you develop all the skills needed to be a world class Christian Outdoor Educator. This means from the word go, you’ll be leading groups on camp and sharing the message of the bible with all the kids you meet.

Trainees undertake a paid 20-month program designed to develop Christian character, conviction and competence under the leadership of seasoned youth and children’s ministers. At the heart of the traineeship is the Outdoor Recreation training delivered by our highly experienced trainers.  Delivered through our own RTO, you will work to complete a nationally recognised Certificate III in Outdoor Leadership, providing the necessary skills for this special ministry platform.

After completion of your traineeship, you will be considered for a permanent position on the Christian Outdoor Education team, with a range of professional development options available.

This rewarding position would suit a person of Christian commitment with an active church involvement in alignment with the principles and values of the Sydney Anglican Church.

Anglican Youthworks is committed to the Working with Children Checks; persons who are ineligible may not apply. A valid Working with Children Check number for paid employment must be obtained and verified prior to an offer of employment being made.

Own transport and a current drivers licence are essential.
