Digital Content Creator

Evangelism & New Churches
Location: Newtown, NSW
Date advertised: 3rd July 2025
Job Type: Part time, Casual, Temporary/Contract
Closing Date: 18th July 2025

Join our team to help create and coordinate online content that supports the wider evangelistic vision of Evangelism & New Churches - particularly aimed at young adults. This includes content that promotes events, shares the gospel, and strengthens a digital presence for evangelistic engagement.

ABOUT US

Evangelism & New Churches (ENC) exists to see more people in more places effectively proclaiming Christ, in partnership with the parishes and organisations of the Diocese, to see the lost in Sydney and beyond find life and hope in Jesus. We sharpen, equip, flex, find, and support evangelism in Sydney and beyond.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a part-time casual or contract role for 4-6 hours per week. Sydney-based preferred (but flexible, hybrid, remote options possible).

Key Responsibilities

1. Content Creation (Short-Form)

  • Generate content ideas aligned with upcoming events and evangelistic priorities
  • Write captions, scripts, or prompts for short-form video (e.g. Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts)
  • Design or coordinate graphics, reels, and posts using tools like Canva or CapCut

2. Digital Platform Management

  • Contribute to planning and managing output across Instagram, TikTok, and other emerging platforms
  • Draft or review website content where needed (e.g. landing pages, event writeups)

3. Collaboration

  • Work alongside the Assistant Director and in-house studio team to plan shoots, schedule content, and review engagement
  • Potentially coordinate volunteers (editors, designers, creatives) as opportunity arises

4. Evangelistic Sharpness

  • Ensure that all content reflects a clear, compelling gospel heart
  • Suggest ways to shape posts or videos so they communicate to the unconverted, not just insiders

Key Outcomes

  • A steady stream of well-produced, platform-appropriate gospel content (especially short-form video)
  • Digital promotion of events and initiatives is timely, attractive, and engaging
  • Content feels native to the audience: young adults who don’t yet know Jesus
  • The evangelistic media presence gradually grows in reach and impact

ABOUT YOU

Skills & Attributes

  • A born again Christian believer who is an active member of a local evangelical church
  • Passionate about reaching the lost with the gospel
  • Familiar with social platforms and current trends (especially TikTok and Instagram)
  • Creative and comfortable brainstorming, scripting, or experimenting with content
  • Able to work independently, but eager to collaborate
  • Basic design or editing ability (or willing to learn)
  • Willing to adapt and grow as the media strategy evolves
  • An ability and willingness to monitor feedback, mediate online comments and respond to messages

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experience using Canva, CapCut, Final Cut, or Premiere
  • Involvement in Christian ministry or event promotion
  • Background in digital comms, storytelling, or youth/young adult evangelism
  • Basic understanding of copyright laws as they apply to music and images.
