Children’s and Youth Worker

Read Children’s and Youth Worker
Wesley Uniting Church
Location: Forrest, ACT
Date advertised: 10th July 2018
Job Type: Part time
Closing Date: ASAP

Wesley Uniting Church, Forrest, ACT, is seeking a Youth and Children’s Worker who will expertly and enthusiastically lead our congregation in the formation of children and youth in Christian faith.

After a strategic review in early 2018, the Parish has identified as a current priority, the strengthening of its Sunday morning ministry of worship and education with children and youth.

The younger members of the congregation are treasured, and know themselves to be so: our Youth and Children’s Worker will help us honour the gift these members are in our midst, by providing opportunities for them to learn, grow, and serve.

You will have experience in an educational context and/or children’s and youth ministry setting; you will be knowledgeable about the Bible, the spirituality of young people, and current practice in working with young people; and you will have a strong commitment to your own Christian spirituality and discipleship.

We seek someone with the ability to encourage volunteer teams, facilitate engaging learning and social environments, and manage time and team commitments effectively.

This 0.4 – 0.5 FTE position is available to start as soon as possible, with terms negotiable for the right candidate.

We invite applications from suitable candidates, who can obtain a detailed Position Description from the Chair of the Church Council, Graeme Brown, at gbrown@grapevine.com.au or 0408 246 474.
