Location: St Ives, NSW
Date advertised: 21st July 2022
Job Type: Full time
Closing Date: 22 August 2022
Christ Church St Ives is seeking a full-time Ministry Director who has an infectious love for Jesus, is above reproach and is committed to a reformed, evangelical and complementarian theological framework.
Christ Church St Ives is a large suburban Anglican Church that exists to build wholehearted disciples of Jesus who will transform the world with the Gospel of Jesus. Our staff team collaborate in accordance with a purpose driven model as we seek to serve our members who attend both in person and online. More than 200 people are members of Night Church and our Ministry Pastor will also take pastoral responsibility for this congregation.
1. Position Purpose
The purpose of the Ministry Director is to see members of our church family identified, equipped and unleashed to serve God’s people and build wholehearted disciples of Jesus. We want to see people increasingly grow to “serve like Jesus”: joyfully, sacrificially, dependently, and in a manner that suits their gifts.
2. Key Responsibilities
The Ministry Director’s key responsibilities are both bottom-up and top-down: we need you to both identify the ways people are gifted to serve and help envision and equip them to do that service; and in collaboration with other ministers, identify serving opportunities and recruit people to serve. This dynamic will be driven by the formulation and implementation of the necessary systems that will see all areas of our church:
- establishing teams;
- recruiting people for service;
- deploying members productively; and
- training them effectively.
Everything within our ministries that involves recruitment and equipping is the concern of the Ministry Director but the work will take place in collaboration with the staff team. This necessarily involves developing a knowledge of and sensitivity towards the general characteristics and needs of the members of each congregation and ministry.
As congregational leader of Night Church you will seek to ensure that each member of the congregation is being built as a wholehearted disciple of Jesus and that the structures around the congregation are actively serving this end.
Candidates for this position will have:
- Evidence of a life of discipleship in following Jesus and personal and professional commitment to see the gospel grow
- Proven capability as a trainer with the ability to lead others
- High level preaching capacity with excellent verbal and written communications skills
- A degree qualification from Moore Theological College
- Ability to relate with a diverse range of people.
Desirably, candidates will have
- Been ordained in the diocese of Sydney
- Used Elvanto in a ministry context
- Experience working within the purposes structure of church
This position is full time and offered with remuneration and benefits as articulated in the Sydney Anglican Diocese Remuneration Guidelines.
To apply, please provide your resume along with a statement about your personal growth in faith over the last 12 months and ministry experience as a recruiter, trainer and leader. This should be sent to email@example.com A formal position description is available.
Position start date is as soon as possible.
Applications close 22nd August 2022. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Applications may be reviewed prior to the advertised closing date and as such this date may change without notice.
