Membership and Women’s Maturity Pastor

St David's Anglican Church
Location: Forestville, NSW
Date advertised: 11th August 2023
Job Type: Part time, Permanent
Closing Date: 29th September 2023

Our Story
St David’s Forestville started as a church in a tent in 1953, and since then, has grown to be a church that is now seeking to see God glorified as thousands are being transformed by Jesus in the Forest and beyond.

This is an exciting time to join St David’s. We’ve been revitalised by this fresh vision and our church community is excited about the possibilities ahead under God.

St David’s is now home to 150 adults, 60 kids and 30 youth, yet there is still so much gospel work to do in the Forest. The gospel momentum is growing as members are inviting family and friends to church, people from the community are starting to visit, and people are growing in their love for God’s Word and we’re seeing this transform their lives.

We are seeking to be intentional in what we do and why we do it, and we have a strategic focus in 2023 to particularly help people who visit St David’s start to belong and be part of our community and to encourage women to deeply trust God’s Word.

The role
By the grace of God, in the last six months we have enjoyed having many new people come and visit our church. This has meant that most weeks, we have new people visiting, some wanting to investigate who Jesus is, others wanting to find a new church to call home because they’ve moved into the area.

In 2023, we are looking to appoint a three days/week Membership Pastor. We may consider expanding this role to extend to women’s maturity ministry as a Women’s Maturity Pastor for an extra two days/week. We want someone with a pastoral heart, and entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion to build a ministry that will see God glorified as thousands are being transformed by Jesus in the Forest and beyond.

As the Membership Pastor, the successful applicant will be tasked with leading us in the area of deeply belonging in community with each other. The focus will be on building teams and structures to help all people at St David’s get connected into the life of church, belong in community with others, and care and be cared for, with a particular focus on the newcomer.

Assuming St David’s moves ahead with a Women’s Maturity Pastor, the successful applicant will be tasked with leading us in the area of deeply trusting God’s Word, particularly focused on discipling women. This would include working in partnership with our current Maturity Pastor. The focus will be on building teams and structures to lead and encourage all women at St David’s to grow in deeply trusting God’s Word and seeing this transform their lives.
