About Us
St Annes Anglican Church is:
A family brought together by our Lord
From many different backgrounds
Worshipping God has Christian disciples,
Loving each other in every Neighbour,
and sharing the good news of Jesus with the city of Ryde and beyond.
St Annes is situated in a vibrant and multicultural city. Our church has excellent facilities and a membership who are excited to build on the recent growth we have seen over the last 2.5 years. By starting in 2025, the successful candidate will help us to focus our culture of evangelism as we head into our 200th birthday in 2026, which presents an amazing opportunity for outreach and mission.
St Annes has three Sunday services: an 8am prayerbook service, a 10am English speaking service and a 10am Mandarin speaking service. There are ministries to children focussed on Preschoolers and Primary School kids on Sundays and a youth group on Fridays.
The Role
The over-riding aim of the role is to grow our church towards the above vision. The new Assistant Minister will be involved in ministries across our church with a primary focus on leading our 10am English Congregation.
This will include:
- Establishing mission pathways to connect people with the Gospel of Jesus and attract families, couples and singles into our church family
- Directing a welcome ministry for newcomers
- Building a vibrant international and intergeneration community
- Constructing a dynamic and creative service
- Overseeing the ministries to children and youth connected to the service
- Activating our members to use their gifts to serve across our ministries
It should be a pretty fun and active role, perfect for someone looking to hone the sort of skills it takes to lead a church into the future.
