ABOUT US
St Thomas’ is a large, contemporary evangelical Church situated on the edge of North Sydney’s CBD. We are a vibrant growing church with around 500 regular attendees on a Sunday - a wide range of ministries to people of all ages and a passion to reach the lost.
Our vision is to glorify our great and gracious God by knowing, loving and proclaiming Jesus. As part of this vision we are seeking a Music Director, who is a gifted musician and strong team leader. A key aspect of this role is to enable us to encourage one another with God’s Word in rich congregational singing to the praise and glory of God.
RESPONSIBILITIES
● Overseeing the music ministry for Sunday services (10am and 5pm) and other events (e.g. carol services, prayer meetings etc.)
● Working with the Senior Minister to continue to develop appreciation about the value of singing as a ministry of the Word of God as a church
● Identifying and recruiting new musicians to serve
● Growing our desire, ability and effectiveness as a church in congregational singing
Working with the Senior Minister to select songs for the Sunday services
Lead and develop music teams
Overseeing and working with audio visual team
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Experience in leading music ministry in Church (desirable)
Some theological education (desirable)
Committed to growth in their love for Christ and his people
Excellent team player
Organised and self motivated
Either has, or is willing to obtain, WWCC and safe ministry training
Familiarity with audio visual facilities
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
This role will report to the Senior Minister and work closely with our service ministers, music team, music admin volunteer and sound desk team.
COMPENSATION
Salary in accordance with Sydney Diocese guidelines and subject to qualifications and experience.
