SEEKING – A city-loving gospel minister for inner city Hobart
Wellspring Anglican Church just south of Hobart’s CBD is looking for their new Senior Minister to prayerfully lead them into their next season.
The successful applicant will be happy living and ministering in an urban environment, less than 10 minutes from Hobart’s CBD, close to the University of Tasmania (until they complete their planned move into the CBD), among a generally well educated (one in two hold a bachelors degree or higher) and multicultural population (nearly one in three people were born overseas, and one in five speak a language other than English at home).
God is already at work. The church family is a vibrant mix of people from all ages, walks of life and cultural backgrounds. There are established ministries to kids and youth, as well as significant links to AFES (Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students) ministries at UTAS, and there is a strong pipeline of young leaders being raised up and encouraged to consider ministry.
The people who live there need to be encouraged to follow Jesus. They need someone to teach them how to navigate the strong cultural winds blowing around them. They need someone who can lead, work collaboratively, and enable the gifts of others. They need to be trained to be intentional disciple makers. They are looking for their new leader to pray with them and seek God together for their next season.
