Excited and passionate about youth ministry?

West Sydney Chinese Christian Church is looking for a part-time youth pastor to lead a group of 50 youth across our congregations at Strathfield. This is a great opportunity to work alongside a strong leadership team with many ministry opportunities.

West Sydney Chinese Christian Church (WSCCC) is an evangelical church located in Sydney's inner west suburbs of Strathfield and Croydon Park. It has a strong and rich history of ministering to people and sending people into ministry.

The church averages about 800 people, including adults, youth and children across 7 congregations, with a Youth Ministry of about 50 youth across two youth groups with strong leadership teams.

The church is seeking to employ a part time Youth Pastor to look after the Youth Ministries. The job description is as follows:

Overall Aim: To be responsible for the development, oversight, and coordination of the Youth Ministries.

Supervision: Responsible to Strathfield English Ministry and Diaconate as well as working alongside the other ministers.

Qualifications: Should be passionate about gospel ministry to youth. A degree from a recognised Bible or Theological college is required. Experience in Youth Ministry is desirable, but not required. The person should be respectful of Chinese culture, but need not be of Chinese background.

1. Lead and work alongside the youth coordinators with teams of leaders across two youth groups (Friday & Sunday).
2. Recruit, encourage and care for youth leaders. This involves training and resourcing them as needed.
3. The hours can be arranged to suit the right candidate. This is a part-time position (2.5 days per week). The hours would include Friday evenings and Sunday mornings.
4. For those interested in preaching or cross-cultural ministry, our church also offers plenty of experience and opportunities (but is not a prerequisite).
