At St. Stephen’s we desire to be a church made beautiful, diverse and large by the gracious work of Christ. Our church is the iconic building in the Willoughby LGA. Its heritage, location and amenities make it a favourite for wedding couples.

Weddings are not just an opportunity for families to celebrate but they bring communities together. We want to utilise our building to help married couples celebrate their wedding day, grasp the wonder of marriage while also providing a support to the ongoing ministries of our church.  

Role Description 

This role is a unique opportunity to exercise entrepreneurial skills, creativity, hospitality, and pastoral care for wedding couples. We are looking for an individual who will increase the number of weddings while facilitating connections with the ongoing ministries of St Stephen’s.  

The Weddings Co-ordinator seeks in consultation with the Senior Minister:  

  1. Promote weddings at St Stephen’s; 
  2. Provide a positive experience for the wedding couple;  
  3. Connect couples into the wider life of St Stephen’s; and ensure weddings are administered in a manner that does not detract from other areas of St Stephen’s life. 
  4. Manage weddings on the St Stephen’s property site;  
  5. Promote weddings at St Stephen’s through the use of paper, online and electronic media (including social media);
  6. Liaising with Communications & Admin Director to ensure suitable use of the site;
  7. Communicating expectations & requirements to all parties (including the presiding minister);
  8. Completing administrative and legal requirements for registering the marriage;
  9. Maintain electronic and paper filing systems; 
  10. Arrange for and document payment with wedding couple. 

Qualifications & Experience 

  1. Christian character with demonstrated commitment to reformed evangelical values.
  2. Experience with marketing on social media is preferable though not essential.  
  3. Experience in events management is highly regarded.

Skills & Capabilities 

  1. Works well as part of a team, including lead, learn, grow, and share as part of a staff team. 
  2. Excellent interpersonal skills.  
  3. Ability to plan, establish and maintain effective systems. 
  4. Attention to detail. 
  5. Works well under pressure. 
  6. Experience in Elvanto (or similar CMS) is preferable but not essential.
