About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly organised individual with a background in property, lease and/or contract administration and excellent leadership, problem-solving and communication skills to join our Property team in the role of permanent full-time Property Officer.
The Property team is responsible for overseeing the management of all Moore College properties, ensuring a safe and positive environment for the College community and compliance with legal and policy requirements. The main teaching and resident campus is in Newtown, with resident housing also at Croydon Park and Parramatta.
Reporting to the Property Manager, working alongside our friendly and experienced trades/maintenance team and leading a small administrative team (one direct report), some of the responsibilities of the Property Officer will include:
- Providing effective administrative support to the Property Manager, including managing diary commitments and email correspondence
- Conducting property inspections
- Lodging building insurance claims
- Administering lease conditions and Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs)
- Developing effective procedures and practices for the Property team, identifying opportunities for improvements and efficiency
- Developing a positive team culture
About you
The successful candidate will meet the following essential selection criteria:
- Extensive experience in administration, including:
- excellent attention to detail
- the ability to plan and manage competing priorities
- the ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality in sensitive matters
- the ability to work independently and within a team
- Experience in lease and contract administration
- Excellent problem-solving skills and an outcome-focused approach, including the initiative to harness resources, identify areas of improvement and propose/implement solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications (e.g. Outlook, Word and Excel), databases and other computer systems (e.g. records management, financial, online request management/issue tracking/service management)
- Ability to lead and motivate team members to accomplish tasks, including the ability to manage and delegate tasks, train and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Ability to support and promote the Christian Vision, Mission and Values of Moore Theological College
It is desirable that you also have:
- Tertiary qualification in business administration or a property-related discipline
- Current NSW driver licence (Class C)
