Gospel-Centred Missional Pastor-Teacher

Boonah Baptist Church is seeking to discern the pastor who Jesus is calling to lead us in the next season of our life.

Boonah is a delightful rural town, with a great sense of community, and a growing tourism, food and arts scene, in the heart of the picturesque Scenic Rim, just over an hour from Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Our congregation of around fifty people is a mix of mostly farmers, retirees, tree-changers and young families.  Over the past four years we have grown into a warm and loving family with some great potential leaders and strategic assets like our local community centre.  Our church family now needs a pastor who can teach us to know, love and obey Jesus more; organise and equip us to serve Him better; and lead us to proclaim Him more effectively to the community around us.

More specifically, we are looking for someone who is passionate about and demonstrates growing evidence of the following gifts and traits:

• Gospel-Centred: knows and loves the Word of God

• Teacher: explains its meaning and significance faithfully and effectively to others

• Shepherd: not only feeds others the Word of God but leads them to love and obey it, to serve Jesus and proclaim Him to others; and protects them from false teaching

• Character: lives and models the Word of God (1 Tim.3:1-7; Tit.1:5-9)

We can support such a person for three days per week at the rate currently recommended by the Queensland Baptist guidelines for remuneration with the option of salary packaging with a three bedroom manse.  However we believe that the right person could grow this into a fulltime role.

If you believe that God may be calling you to this position please phone with any questions or enquiries or otherwise submit a curriculum vitae (listing relevant education, experience and referees) and a short cover letter (summarising evidence of the above gifts and traits) by MARCH 1, 2020 to the following address:
