Christ Church Inner West is (CCIW) is seeking an enthusiastic and gifted children’s and youth pastor to join the team and serve at our growing congregations at CCIW. You will lead our kids and youth ministry with the aim of seeing young people grow to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ, his church and his world.

About us

CCIW is an evangelical Anglican church located in the Inner West of Sydney. Our parish includes the suburbs of Ashfield, and Five Dock. We currently have four congregations meeting across two sites, with plans to plant new congregations in the coming years, with each one being a joyful community of grace, where people thrive in Christ, not just survive in the Inner West. 

The 70+ kids and youth of CCIW are a wonderful, vibrant and much loved part of the congregations. This role is vital in enabling the CCIW vision and is part of our commitment to walk alongside parents as they bring up their children in the grace and instruction of the Lord. 

The Opportunity

We are seeking a suitably gifted children’s and youth pastor to join the CCIW team.

The role of the Children’s Pastor includes:

  • Developing the culture of kids and youth ministry leadership within the congregation
  • Recruiting and onboarding kids and youth ministry leaders
  • Oversight of Sunday kids church programs
  • Rostering and communication with kids and youth ministry leaders
  • Co-leading our CCIW holiday kids club
  • Lead the Friday night youth group
  • Oversee the mid-week and Sunday discipleship programs for youth
  • Co-ordination of Scripture in Schools (SRE) in one of the local schools

Qualifications, competencies and experience

We envisage that the successful applicant will have a positive and proactive approach, with strong pastoral wisdom and experience in discipling others.

They will have leadership gifts with demonstrated experience in children’s and youth ministry and in leading teams.

They will be a humble leader, teachable and willing to learn, pastorally warm, faithful to the gospel and resilient.

While formal theological training is not necessary, they will have a proven ability to teach the Bible faithfully, clearly and practically.
