As a result of the ongoing growth of AFES, we have developed a newly created role to build our communications capability – Communications Team Leader - based in Kingsford.  

This role is integral in building our communications systems and processes that enable organisational growth while working collaboratively with the national office team and campus team leaders and staff. 

The vision of AFES (Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students) is to prayerfully proclaim Jesus Christ at university to present everyone mature in him, reaching students at 55+ campuses in every state and territory of Australia. AFES employs staff and trains apprentices to serve Christ and support students in their Christian growth and witness.  

Working in partnership with campus ministry staff to serve the campus staff and students, it is essential that applicants have a personal commitment to and alignment with the mission, vision, values and doctrinal basis of AFES.  

The role has oversight of all AFES publications including the website and conference management.  Leading a small communications team, the successful candidate would have experience in communications, project management, web development and small team leadership. 

A can-do attitude, a strong service orientation and problem solving approach are a must.  In addition, candidates with a relevant degree, experience in a Christian organisation and history of relationship with an AFES group would be considered highly desirable, though but not essential.   

Candidates need to be permanent residents and able to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People Check (or relevant State Equivalent). 

The role is full-time however, part time options may be considered for suitable candidates.  A 3-year contract will be offered to the successful candidate. 

We anticipate the successful candidate would commence the role on 20th January 2020.
