About the role:
Embracing Ministries, a Chaplaincy Unit under the Anglican Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn seeks a dedicated individual for the role of Director and Anglicare Disability Chaplain. This full-time, fixed-term position is a unique opportunity to lead a ministry deeply committed to the welfare and spiritual growth of individuals with disabilities and their families.
Key responsibilities:
- Engaging with and supporting families and communities affected by disability.
- Serving as an Anglicare Disability Chaplain, providing pastoral care and worship activities.
- Leading team development, including recruitment and training.
- Collaborating with various Ministry Units and educating them on best practices for disability support.
- Close association with the Embracing Ministries Board, including strategic planning and fundraising.
- Capacity to build partnerships with other disability providers in the ACT.
Who we are seeking:
- Ordained or ordination-eligible individuals with a calling towards Christian ministry and pastoral care.
- A passionate advocate for the disabled community, possessing a respectful and loving approach to service.
- Experienced in theology, ministry training, or pastoral care focusing on disability support.
- Proficiency in Auslan and/ or alternative communications is advantageous.
- Compliance with Diocesan Safe Ministry standards, including relevant certifications.
