Role summary
We are looking for a theologically trained and suitably qualified person to join the ministry team at St Luke’s Anglican Church, Miranda. The youth minister will have responsibility for seeing teenagers in our mission field come to faith in Jesus and grow in their knowledge and love of God. This is a paid full-time position which reports to the Rector while also working closely with the wider ministry team.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Recruitment, training, deployment and care of 50+ youth leaders.
- Oversight of all youth programs seeking to make and grow disciples of Jesus.
- Strategic planning and reporting for youth ministry.
- Engagement and participation in church wide strategic planning.
- Regular church preaching.
To be successful in this role you are likely to have:
- The conviction that the church is sent to seek and save the lost;
- Demonstrated ability to cast vision, recruit, coach and deploy leaders and volunteers in order to ‘equip the saints for works of service’.
- A warm, personable and pastoral demeanour with a strong love for people.
- Live a committed, prayerful, holy life of dependence on God in Christ and upholding the standards of Faithfulness in Service.
- A love of collaboration and team ministry;
- This role is required to hold (or be eligible to hold) a licence for ministry in the
- Anglican Diocese of Sydney (clergy or lay minister). Preference will be given to ordained minister or those seeking ordination.
