St Paul’s Anglican Church Tamworth is a reformed evangelical ministry to the city of Tamworth and is part of the Anglican Diocese of Armidale.

Our Church family is currently seeking to fill the position of Associate / Assistant Minister from as early in 2020 as possible. The position is full time and the successful applicant will be an integral and senior member of the Staff Team.


# Strong commitment to humility and overall personal godliness
# Completed BTh or BD from a recognised evangelical Bible College
# Competent and faithful Bible Teacher
# Demonstrated experience in discipling and working with Christian men

# Capacity to enjoy working in the context of a team ministry
# Capacity to relate well across a wide range of ages


# To work in tandem with the Senior Minister to ensure St Paul’s is constantly seeking to fulfil Christ’s call to ‘make disciples of all nations’. This means both a strong evangelistic focus together with an equal emphasis on growing those in the church family who already follow Christ.
# The Associate / Assistant Minister would most likely be given the responsibility of being the primary leader of one of the main St Paul’s congregations.

# Regular preaching (most weeks) at Sunday services and other teaching opportunities.
# Regular leading of services.
# Identifying and training suitably gifted people for service as part of ‘the body’ at St Paul’s.
# Full participation in weekly staff meetings to review and plan all ministry activities of the church.
# Leading at least one small group Bible Study and having a role, in consultation with the Senior Minister, in overseeing the wider small group Bible Study ministry of St Paul’s.
# Sharing of the Funeral and Wedding load as arranged with the Senior Minister.
# Acting in the capacity of Senior Minister when the Senior Minister is absent.
# Dependent on other staffing arrangements, the Associate / Assistant Minister may be called upon to be involved in the coordinating of the Primary School Scripture Program.
# Full participation in the wider life of the Diocese of Armidale as directed by the Bishop and in consultation with the Senior Minister.

Salary is according to the Stipend Schedule of the Diocese of Armidale and is exactly equivalent to that of the Senior Minister with all of the same benefits. Housing, utilities, Superannuation, and various allowances such as car, technology, and books are included as part of the package.
