Assistant Minister

St Alban’s Anglican Church Lindfield is a growing evangelical and multicultural church with many exciting opportunities to make Christ known to people of all nations in our local community.

To continue to grow in number and maturity, we are seeking a full-time Assistant Minister who loves seeing adults and children become and grow as disciples of Jesus, is committed to the mission of the local church, and has a passion to equip and lead others in ministry.

1. Position Purpose

Your purpose is to see more and more adults and children in our local community become and live as mature disciples of Jesus.   

2. Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

Actively contributing to the decisions, activities and cohesion of our collaborative staff team.

Promoting two of the essential characteristics of a mature disciple among God’s people (deep in the Word, loving God, in community, serving and on mission).[i]

Developing and supporting our leaders, teams and programs committed to seeing children become and live as mature disciples.

Pastoring God’s people

Preaching and teaching God’s Word.

Ongoing attention to personal Christian growth, ministry development, and professional standards are expected and encouraged in all members of our team.

3. Qualifications

Candidates for this position will have:

Growing maturity in Christ

Passionate commitment to seeing adults and children become mature disciples of Jesus.

Demonstrated ability to serve collaboratively in a staff team.

Demonstrated ability to preach.

Ability to lead children’s ministries.

Ability to pastor a congregation in the near future.

Three or more years of full-time theological training.

This position is full-time and is offered with remuneration and benefits as articulated in the Sydney Anglican Diocese Remuneration Guidelines, including provision and leave for professional development.
