Youth Pastor

Anglican Parish of Enfield & Strathfield
Location: Strathfield NSW
Date advertised: 13th February 2024
Job Type: Full time
Closing Date: 29th March 2024

1. Key responsibilities

Enfield and Strathfield Anglican Church is looking for a suitable person to serve as a full-time youth pastor. The youth pastor’s role involves pastoring the youth through the faithful teaching of the Bible, recruiting, training and pastoring the leaders, encouraging and equipping parents to minister to their teenagers, and reaching out to non-Christian youth through SRE (we have scripture classes in four local high schools) and other strategic evangelistic initiatives.

2. About us

Our parish is ethnically diverse and consists of four congregations meeting in two locations. We run a Friday night program (IGNITE) and a Sunday morning program (SPARK) with some overlap of youth. There are currently over 60 youths attending these programs. We also minister to many others through SRE. It is essential, therefore, that the candidates have a high capacity and energy for a complex and growing ministry.  Ability to work in a team ministry is also essential. We, as a parish, have a firm conviction in Reformed Evangelical theology and a Complementarian view on ministry. Anyone applying for the role should share the same conviction.

3. Qualifications

A minimum of 3 years of theological training is essential, and previous experience in youth ministry is desirable. Candidates must demonstrate deep conviction in youth ministry and a clear understanding of the rationale and strategy for developing and maintaining a faithful and effective youth ministry over a sustained period of time.

4. Remuneration

Remuneration, allowances, and leave entitlements are according to the Sydney Diocesan guidelines for parish ministry staff. There will be a probation period of three months. The starting date is negotiable depending on the availability of the successful applicant.
