Sydney Diocesan Secretariat (SDS) provides a range of valued and highly regarded services to organisations and parishes in the Anglican Church Diocese of Sydney.
We are currently seeking an experienced Legal and Administrative Assistant to join our team.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years’ administrative experience in a legal or similar environment.
They will demonstrate excellent initiative, attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines.
In addition to having excellent Office skills and word processing and document management skills, they will have familiarity with how the law works and the capacity to engage with legal documents and processes.
An understanding of the Anglican Diocese of Sydney would be a significant advantage.
The primary duties of the position include:
- Assisting in the provision of corporate secretarial support including preparing draft agendas and minutes and arranging document execution
- Providing legal assistance including preparing and processing and drafting church legislation (ordinances)
- Preparing and submitting notifications and reports to regulatory bodies,
The role is full time and reports to the Legal Counsel & Corporate Secretary. Flexible hours are a possibility.
Consistent with the ethos and values of SDS, applicants for the position should have a demonstrated Christian commitment, preferably as a member of an Anglican church in the Sydney Diocese.
