Sydney Diocesan Secretariat (SDS) provides a range of valued and highly regarded services to organisations and parishes in the Anglican Church Diocese of Sydney.
We have a newly created full time opportunity for a candidate with the right mix of skills to complement our existing Finance and Investment teams.
We are seeking an outstanding individual with capacity to grow into a senior management role in Finance or Investments.
You will have an accounting background (CA/CPA qualifications) with experience and exposure to risk management and governance or audit, ideally six plus years.
In addition, you will have knowledge of investment markets and ideally have had experience or exposure to investment, loan portfolios and investment strategy.
Working closely with the CFO and the Head of Investments, responsibilities will include client relationship management, investment strategy, reporting, and monitoring of loan portfolios and loan administration as well as some day to day functions.
You will contribute to our financial strategy and provide effective financial management and accounting services, as well as contributing to system improvement and building stakeholder relationships. You will support and provide relief to the current finance team.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting or a Finance related degree
- CA or CPA qualified
- 6 + years in accounting experience
- Ideally 2+ years in treasury cash/liquidity management/ investment accounting role
- Excellent relationship building skills and experience in client relationship management
- Demonstrated experience leading and working in a team environment
- Experience in presenting both verbal and written reports.
- Excellent Project management skills
- Excellent analytical skills with a flair for innovation and a passion for investment
