P/T Women’s Worker

Job Type: Part-time. 2.5 days per week including a half day Sunday.
It is envisaged that the Women’s Worker would attend on a rotating basis either the 8am & 10am morning services, or the 5pm & 7pm services on any given week. Whether this is month on, month off or weekly rotation would be agreed in consultation with the Rector, having regard to the pastoral needs of the parish from time to time.
Commencement Date: Early 2018 as negotiated with the successful candidate.
Nature of the role & responsibilities:
- Development of pastoral care processes for women, including encouraging key women to be active in pastoral care within the parish.
- Mentoring & discipleship of women (of all ages).
Essential: The successful applicant will be a committed evangelical Christian, humble & willing to work on a team, hardworking & enthusiastic, an evangelist to the lost, pastorally sensitive and faithful to the Gospel. The applicant must be theologically-minded and able to show evidence of handling and teaching the Bible faithfully within a complementarian framework.
Desirable: already fruitful in a similar role; having completed or currently undertaking higher education in theology and ministry.
Remuneration: St Stephen’s will remunerate the position in line with the Anglican Diocese of Sydney’s guidelines for stipend and allowances, and in line with their experience and qualifications.
