Welcome to Bishop Ivan Yin Lee’s web page. The Rt Rev Ivan Lee was consecrated Bishop on December 20, 2002 and commenced his position in the Western Sydney region (Parramatta) on February 1, 2003.

Prior to his appointment to the Western Region Bishop Lee had been rector of St Aidan’s Hurstville Grove in Southern Sydney.

Following his theological education Ivan Lee served as an assistant at St Matthew’s Manly and St Bede’s Beverley Hills before becoming rector of St Matthew’s Merrylands West in 1985. After five years in that parish Bishop Lee moved to the Diocese of Melbourne joining the ministry team at St Jude’s Carlton.

In 1997 Bishop Lee moved back to the Diocese of Sydney to serve as rector of Hurstville Grove.

Bishop Lee is married to Virginia.

“The local parish is where the action is and that’s where we’re going to change the world. I see the role of bishop, in one sense, as just enabling people to grow the local churches. That’s my passion, really.”

The Rt Rev Ivan Lee began his ministry as Bishop of Western Sydney in February 2003 after more than twenty years of parish ministry in Sydney and Melbourne. He succeeds Bishop Brian King who served the Western Region as Bishop from 1993.
