Synod of the Diocese of Sydney commences next Monday

The Sydney Diocesan Synod will commence its annual session on Monday 10th October.

The Synod will also meet on Tuesday 11th October, Wednesday 12th October, and the following week on Monday 17th October and Tuesday 18th October.

The first day of Synod (10th October) will be held in the Sydney Town Hall.

On all other days of meeting the Synod will gather as its usual meeting place, in the Wesley Theatre, 222 Pitt Street, Sydney.

On Monday 10 October a Synod Service will be held in St Andrew's Cathedral at 3.00pm. The Session in the Town Hall will commence at 4.30pm, immediately after the Service concludes.

Archbishop Peter Jensen will deliver his Presidential Address to the Synod at 7.00pm in the Town Hall. Interviews and video clips will be included in his Address.

Monday's events are being held in the Town Hall, so that members of parishes who are not synod representatives are also able to be present, if they have been allocated a ticket.

Archbishop Jensen wishes to report on the progress of the Diocesan Mission as widely as possible to the diocese.

Media representatives can obtain embargoed copies of the Archbishop's Address from his Media Officer, Margaret Rodgers from 9.30am on Monday.

Special seating will be available for media at the Synod.
