Organisers of the LOUD youth event for Connect09 are co-ordinating train transport for the thousands expected at the rally on December the 4th.
With other major sections of Connect09 launched including the Inspiring People series for CBDs and Colin Buchanan’s DVD for primary schools, LOUD is the event for teenagers and young adults which is being supported by Youthworks and the fervr website.
Connect09 executive director Andrew Nixon says “We want to make sure as many people as possible can come, youth group members and their friends. Youthworks’ Andy Stevenson is in touch with local leaders to work out which train to catch on major lines , so we’re hoping everyone will be on board. Please check that your youth group is involved.”
The event will be held at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on 4 December, and is a concert with two Australian bands, Revive and Qurious. Revive has just returned from a US tour and is recording an album at the moment. Qurious are featured on the Connect09 high school seminar DVD which has now been run in more than 70 schools.
As well as the train transport, organisers are offering 5 bonus tickets for every 20 tickets sold to make it easier for groups to invite their friends.
Mr Nixon says ” The night will be hosted by Dave Miers from Willoughby Anglican. and will feature a gospel message from Steve Chong calling young people to put their trust in Jesus, and encouraging them to get connected by joining a local youth group.”
