Archbishop Peter Jensen has announced the appointment of Deaconess Margaret Rodgers as his Media Officer, effective from 1 January, 2004.
Deaconess Rodgers has been the CEO of Anglican Media Sydney since 1993. Recently she has been devoting a major portion of her time to work in media relations. She has established significant contacts with journalists around the world, which have greatly facilitated the opportunities for the Archbishop and others in the Diocese to make a Christian voice heard in the secular media.
In announcing the appointment, Dr Jensen said, “I am grateful for the expertise and professionalism which Margaret brings to the role of Media Officer. As she will now be able to devote herself fully to this aspect of her work, that will enhance our opportunity to talk about God, Jesus and the Bible much more in the public arena.”
A new CEO of Anglican Media will be appointed in the near future.
Anglican Media Sydney has also announced that its enire staff will be located at its Northbridge premises from early December. Anglican Media Evangelism (TV and Radio) has been located in the Northbridge office since 1993, while Southern Cross and Anglican Media Public Relations staff have been located at St Andrew’s House since that same date.
