I grew up in Greenacre, Sydney with my Polish parents. They were WWII refugees. I am 43, have two daughters and two grandkids, and I work as a chef and a TAFE teacher. My wife Jen and I live 40 minutes out of Orange on ‘Kataan’, a sheep farm where we moved in 1991 to escape the ‘rat race’. My Dad had just died of cancer.
In 2002, I fell into a conversation with a TAFE student from OEC and we discussed Christianity. She invited me to church and the night I attended there was a talk on Daniel 2 and his dream of the statue. I remember that night so clearly. I realised that I was building my own ‘empire’ on shaky foundations and really needed to change. Over time I became convinced that the message of Jesus was true and I have been coming to OEC ever since. It’s the greatest congreg-ation I’ve been privileged to be a part of. I’m regularly reminded of God’s work and the destination to which I am now headed. I have really mellowed and now have a path to follow. There really is something to look forward to beyond death.
I am proud of OEC. I invite non-Christian friends and pray that they will find salvation in Jesus. It’s just great introducing my friends to God’s people. And I’m planning on getting involved with the CIM mission too: door knocking, cooking and inviting people to ‘Introducing God’.
At the moment I’m really praising God for recently bringing my daughter and son-in-law to faith in Jesus. Please pray that I’ll stay loyal to the Lord and that he’ll protect me from Satan’s attacks.
