Stuart Robinson interviews Chris Edwards
Q: What are you reading?
A: “Touching the Void” by Joe Simpson. Here’s a book by a guy who falls off a mountain in the Andes, is presumed dead by his climbing partners and two days later, with both legs broken drags his body into base camp. Gripping stuff.
Q: Latest CD purchase?
A: “The Gospel According To Groove”. It came highly recommended by people I trust in such matters.
Q: Who would you most like to sit next to on a long flight and why?
A: The pilot. I’d ask, “Can I do that for a while?”
Q: Favourite sport?
A: Though living in a Rugby starved state I am still a keen fan. My favourite team has always been the “Two Blues” (Parramatta). I have a feeling that 2004 is their year.
Q: What do you miss most/least about Sydney?
A: Most: Having a shared history with people. We don’t have many, “remember back in the old days” conversations.
Least: Traffic. We don’t miss road tolls either (there are none in South Australia).
Q: What do you enjoy most/least about Adelaide?
A: Most: Accessibility. Nothing is more than 15-20 minutes away. And of course we love the people here.
Least: Hearing people from the East complain that Adelaide is too far to visit. I once heard an Archbishop of Sydney say, “Adelaide is simply where you refuel before flying on to Perth!”
