I read this book fresh from my involvement in making the MU quilt for Pam Goodhew. For months, dozens of godly women met weekly for an old fashioned quilting bee around a communal frame in my lounge room, stitching this gift of love and sharing their own life stories. So Lynne Klomp’s image of a ‘tapestry’ of stories from Christian women across Australia had particular resonance for me. Women like Florence who coped for years with an abusive husband, Trish with her anorexic daughter, Denise and her prodigal son. They are not professional writers, so we can forgive their occasional rambling on a little, and their experiences might be very different from yours or mine. But their simple candour will enlarge your concept of our sovereign God’s boundless generosity and love, bring a tear to your eye, and make your spirits soar.
