Top Australian author Dr John Dickson is preparing to take on all-comers in Cammeray as he addresses the topic, ‘Jesus for Sceptics’.
The Rev Nigel Fortescue from Naremburn Cammeray Anglican church says the event aims to ‘demystify society’s fascination with Jesus.’
“I have been surprised by how often I will have conversations about Jesus generated by Dan Brown and the Da Vinci Code,” says Mr Fortescue.
“Australian people are truth-seekers. The book and now the movie, have lead people to ask the deeper, more profound questions about life.”
Dr Dickson is challenging people who are sceptical about Jesus to bring their questions to Cammeray Public School Hall on June 27 at 8:00 pm.
“Dr Dickson will be aiming to guide people towards the truth about Jesus,” Mr Fortescue says.
He says he has found that people in his area actually take the concept of ‘truth’ very seriously.
“We want to know the truth and see that it is adhered to,” Mr Fortescue says.
Topics Dr Dickson will address include the historical integrity of the Bible and the evidence for the existence of Jesus.
Dr Dickson is the award winning author of A Spectator’s Guide to World Religions, A Spectator’s Guide to Jesus and most recently, The Christ Files.
