The new Connect09 site aimed at connecting non-Christians with congregations of believers will arrive on Friday January 30.
Video presentations in the four main "heart languages' spoken by Sydneysiders, is just one unique feature of the new Connect09 evangelistic website which was set to be launched on Australia Day, January 26, but will now be launched this Friday.
The site is designed to offer every visitor everything they need to connect with Christ and with their local church " whatever language they speak.
Sydney's four main languages " English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Arabic " will be supplemented by text-only presentations in 15 other languages.
Plans are also underway to add downloadable gospel messages in as many languages as possible.
"Great effort has been made to make the site as friendly and personable as possible," says Connect09's executive director, the Rev Andrew Nixon.
"It features people from the outset " real people not air-brushed ones! " and allows the user to choose to navigate the site in their heart language."
The site also gives visitors the opportunity to ask questions and will direct them to their local participating Anglican church.
Mr Nixon says the site will reinforce and build the profile of the Connect09 message.
“No matter where anyone is in our diocese, there is a church near them and Christians who can introduce them to Jesus. That we have so many community-based churches is a great blessing and I hope this site can help us make the most of it! May there be many, many more,” he says.
