The Bible Society, after operating in Australia for over 200 years as federated state-based units, has now merged all management and activities into a single legal entity.
The new Bible Society Australia will commence immediately.
The creation of a new national entity has resulted in a need to locate and appoint a new CEO. After an extensive process during which both internal and external candidates were considered, the board has appointed Dr Greg Clarke.
Dr Clarke has worked for 20 years in Christian publishing, education and media including for Sydney-based organisations Matthias Media and CASE at New College, UNSW.
He is a founding director of the Centre for Public Christianity where he has further developed his reputation as a speaker and writer, and a guiding voice across many interdenominational projects.
“I am humbled to be given this opportunity, and look forward to working with existing management and staff as we focus on developing a truly national organisation,” Dr Clarke said.
“The contribution of the Bible Society in Australia has been outstanding over the last 200 years and I feel the new structure will serve the aims and objectives of the new organisation most appropriately.”
