We love seeing baptisms and confirmations! It's such an encouragement to see people profess their faith publicly, and a joy to hear about the journey that led them to this moment.

Grant Perkins from Lower Mountains Anglican Parish shared his story of coming to faith in Jesus at his recent baptism.

"Sadly my wife passed away last year. Neil Atwood, one of the ministers, took the funeral service here at Lower Mountains Anglican Parish. Afterwards, he handed me a flier for GriefShare, a course that offers love, guidance and support for people grieving. It was run here at the church.

"While attending GriefShare, I started praying. I started praying to God about my grief and sadness. I found Jesus knew grief. He was a man of many sorrows.

"After attending GriefShare and I started praying, I started attending church and some of the other groups that our church ran. I attended two groups about Jesus and Christianity, and I've sort of found how faith encompasses all parts of life.

"If there is one positive in the loss of Jackie, it is that I've found faith, and I think that's a great thing. I'm so happy.

"Why do I love Jesus? Well, he was compassionate and kind and he died for us. He died for our sins so we can ascend to heaven."
