Two new lecturers are set to join the faculty of Moore Theological College mid next year

The Rev Ed Loane, a graduate of the College, most recently taught at the Wales Evangelical School of Theology. He served in local ministry in Sydney as an assistant minister at Moorebank Anglican Church, as well as further abroad at Little Shelford in Cambridgeshire, England, while studying at Cambridge's Kings College. He is currently completing his PhD, a critical appraisal of the theology in regards to church unity espoused by former Archbishop of Canterbury William Temple.

Mr Will Timmins will also be joining the faculty, himself hailing from England. While completing his PhD at Cambridge, focusing on the 'I' of Romans 7, he has also taught Greek at Cambridge as well as occasionally lecturing in New Testament studies. He has been a part of the community at Christ Church Cambridge, and has also previously served and worked for Eden Baptist Church, the UK Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship, the Beeston Free Church in Nottingham, as well as George Whitfield College in South Africa.

“I am very grateful to God for the provision of both Ed and Will to join us in the work he has given us to do here at Moore”, said Moore College Principal Dr Mark Thompson on the College website. “We are blessed with a remarkable faculty and I expect that these two men will make a highly significant contribution to the future of the College.”

Both men will join the faculty in July 2014, after completing their doctoral research. The new announcement follows the appointment of the Rev Dr Andrew Leslie and Dr Peter Orr earlier in the year.

In further faculty news, Youthworks will welcome former Archbishop of Sydney Dr Peter Jensen as a lecturer for Semester 1 of 2014.

“Providing specialised training to the next generation of youth and children’s ministers requires the right people with energy, experience and know-how. As former Principal of Moore College and a former primary-school teacher, I can’t think of a better person to teach doctrine to our students," said Youthworks Principal Andrew Nixon in a press release.

Dr Jensen will teach doctrine, focusing on the person and work of the Holy Spirit, grace, election, and eschatology, in the unit 'Holy Spirit, Grace and Hope'.
