Sydney Anglican band Revive are home for the holidays after touring the United States with acclaimed Christian band, Third Day.

The past year has seen them put together a new album of songs, Chorus of the Saints, worked on with Third Day's lead singer Mac Powell, which will be released in March next year.

The foursome " who have been together five years " have supported Third Day on two extensive tours this year, playing in over 20 states to over 40,000 people. Revive have also played with Sanctus Real, December Radio and Need to Breathe.

What has it been like to work with such a high-profile Christian band as Third Day?

"Its been amazing. A dream. To work with one of the best bands in contemporary Christian music is a blessing," says guitarist Tyler Hall.

"They are solid Christian men who love the Lord, play and write great music and have 15 years of experience under their belt that we can learn from. I cannot think of a better band to be around than Third Day."

Putting God in the driver’s seat

This year has also introduced the band to the experience of "life on the road', which Tyler says has been a challenging lesson in trusting God.

"We had to sell everything, leave our homes, leave our friends and family back in Australia to get over to the States and give this a go," he says.

"We have stepped out in faith, God opened these doors clearly for us so we walked through them. We have to trust him daily that he will provide for us. And He does."

One of these provisions has been the band's bus, which "looks like a tictac on wheels". Bought on Ebay, the bus has eight bunk beds in it, as well as a TV and X-Box.

"We are all married so we actually bring our wives on the road," says Tyler. "We have to travel through the night to get to the next gig so we are very blessed to have a bus with bunks in it."

Dave Hanbury (vocals), Tyler Hall (guitars), Rich Thompson (bass) and Mike Tenkate (drums) met at youth group at Christ Church St Ives. While Christ Church St Ives is still home for Mike and Tyler, Rich has moved to St Philip's, Turramurra and Dave is part of St Matthew's, Manly.

Revive will be performing in Sydney in the coming weeks, before returning to the States in February to tour again with Third Day. Their first single is due to hit the American airwaves on December 26. "We are very excited about continuing our work in the US. Audiences have really embraced us so we will continue our work over there until they don't!" says Tyler.
