Three new Bush Church Aid staff are being inducted in the space of a week.
The Ministry appointments are in Coober Pedy and Kangaroo Island in South Australia and Adelong and Tarcutta in NSW.
Geoff and Tracey Piggott were inducted as BCA Field Staff in Coober Pedy on 30th July. Geoff studied theology in Sydney and they have served in Parish ministry in the Dioceses of Sydney, Grafton and Newcastle. Their previous position was in the parish of Camden Haven.
On Friday, 3rd August, Brad and Joh Henley were inducted as BCA Field Staff on Kangaroo Island. They came to Christ through the ministry of St Matthew's Kensington and Brad served as an assistant in two Parishes and as Diocesan Youth Officer in Adelaide.
On Sunday 5th August, Keith and Cynthia Groundwater were welcomed as BCA affiliates in the Parishes of Adelong and Tarcutta in South-West New South Wales, working with local Christians to develop a long-term strategy for ministry and mission. Keith and Cynthia came to Christ in their early 40’s and have served in country and city churches. Both say they are delighted that God has been at work in their ‘retirement’ to open up a new opportunity for ministry.
Revd Dr Mark Short, National Director of BCA, says he is thrilled by the appointments. “I am excited that the Piggotts, Henleys and Groundwaters will be serving with BCA; they have been an answer to our prayers. We have a good sense that they are God’s people in God’s place at God’s time.”
Also in regional NSW, the Bishop of the Riverina, Doug Stevens, has announced his intention to retire from his present role in November to return to parish ministry.
