Moore College students are sharing their creativity and humour with the world thanks to the innovation of Youtube.

Videos played at last week's Moore College revue have been uploaded to Youtube and the clips have already received thousands of hits after only days online.

The revue has traditionally been a night where the College faculty, students, family and friends enjoy an evening of live skits, songs and videos by students from the college community.

However, this year many videos shown on the night have been put online, so those not present could enjoy the students' creativity.

Fourth year Moore student and revue committee member Russ Grinter says the Moore revue is a great opportunity for students to have fun and build community.

"Principal John Woodhouse is strong on promoting college community and I think the revue is a key part of gluing our community together while having some fun," he says.

One of the most celebrated clips from the night was a video produced by Sarah Browne and Katharine Crossle titled Flash Salier " a parody of a famous scene from the film Flashdance " which shows what the interview process may have been like when Bill Salier applied for the job of Moore College’s vice principal.

The video has received over 1000 hits on Youtube in less than one week.

Videos from other students include a collection of ‘dances’ from various Moore lecturers, a look at the Diocese of the future in the style of Terminator 2 and even a series that parodies the recent Mac vs PC ads, comparing Anglican candidates and independent Moore students.

Russ says this year's theme was a parody of Live 8 called "Make Exams History'.

"While we take Christ seriously, we don't mind poking fun at ourselves," Russ says.

"The night was only meant to go for two hours, but it went for three because people entered so much stuff and we didn't want to leave anything out."

Russ says the response from the audience was very positive.

"After people saw the revue, they wanted to see the videos again. It was also a big surprise to see how many creative people there are in the college community," he says.

"I think people were also surprised to see what a funny guy vice principal Bill Salier is."
