Rory and Susan Shiner, new AFES staff workers at the University of Western Australia, offer a small glimpse into the efforts undertaken at Moore College.

Rory is one of over 75 Moore graduates being recognised tonight as the College holds its annual Graduation Ceremony at Sydney Town Hall.

But while the graduation is held in the heart of Sydney, Moore's impact is being felt far beyond the city's borders.

In fact tonight's theme, "Into All the World', has never been more appropriate.

Rory and Susan both trained at Moore before returning to Rory's home town of Perth to serve Christ in student ministry.

Rory says the College has done a great job of equipping him for Christian ministry.

"I realise now, more than ever, that it is a great privilege to take four years out to think and reflect at the level Moore College encourages you to," he says.

"It provides both something to feed off and a foundation to build on."

His new role involves teaching at public meetings, leading Bible Studies, helping to train UWA's trainee staff, and teaching in various other forums.

While he misses friends from his time at Moore, Rory says he is thrilled to be "back in the saddle of full-time ministry'.

"Full-time ministry is a different sort of busyness to College. It's much more varied.

"One minute you're preparing a sermon or reading for a seminar, and the next minute you're shifting chairs and putting up posters."

The Shiners are just one example of the huge range of ministries being undertaken by this year's crop of graduates.

Many will take up roles in Sydney Anglican parishes or with other local ministries such as student work or Ecom.

Others will be scattered throughout the world, including New Zealand, Vanuatu, Singapore, Costa Rica, China, England and Ireland, plus almost every state in Australia.

As well as recognising graduates, the Ceremony will focus on hearing about and praying for the work of the gospel all over the world.

This year's Graduation Ceremony will be held at Sydney Town Hall, commencing at 7.30pm tonight, Monday March 21. The speaker is the Rev Michael Raiter, the College's exiting Head of the Department of Mission. Entry is free and all are welcome.
