City (St Johns) Church Minister

All Saints Anglican Network
Location: Launceston, TAS
Date advertised: 7th May 2024
Job Type: Full time
Closing Date: 30th May 2024

Do you have a genuine love for God’s people? Do you desire to equip, empower and resource God’s people, enabling them to participate in God’s kingdom work as God’s kingdom people? Do you long to see the gospel of grace bring lasting transformation to the lives of people?

The All Saints Anglican Network (ASN) is seeking a faithful, gospel-hearted minister to answer God’s call to a full-time position to lead the largest of our Network churches, All Saints City (St John’s) in Launceston, Tasmania.

All Saints City, formerly known as St. John's Parish, has a rich history stretching back over 200 years and has played a significant role in proclaiming the gospel, establishing churches, and engaging in mercy ministries within the regional city of Launceston.

The St John’s Church building is currently undergoing a significant internal renewal due for completion in June 2024. The church building, which has served as a place of worship for almost 200 years, holds a strategic location in the heart of Launceston, surrounded by various local service providers, nonprofit organisations, and small businesses.

All Saints City is a mid-sized church with three congregations, offering a range of worship styles from traditional prayerbook services at 8:00 am to a relaxed and informal gathering at 5:00 pm, including a monthly youth service. With an average weekly attendance of around 170 people and over 220 regular attendees, the church represents the breadth and diversity found within Anglican worship.

The ASN is a dynamic Anglican Network consisting of four small-to-medium-sized evangelical churches with six congregations in the Tamar/Launceston region of Tasmania. Established in November 2018, it began with the partnership of two historic parishes and has since expanded to include two additional churches. While each church has its own unique expression, they all share a common vision centred around Jesus.  Committed to nurturing and equipping disciples of Jesus, the churches of the network engage in diverse ministries. Passionate about mission and evangelism, the ASN supports cross-cultural missions financially and seeks to establish new churches in gospel-poor areas.

The successful applicant will be a prayerful servant-leader with gifts as a pastor/teacher who will thrive leading a church whilst belonging to a wider Network team. We would love someone with experience and a passion for church renewal, a strategic thinker with an evangelistic heart, but we are committed to appointing the right person to the role – with a remuneration package structured accordingly.

If you feel a spark of excitement, grab the position description, and if it resonates with your heart, don’t hesitate to apply. Come and join a passionate team of paid staff and volunteers to serve God’s Kingdom here in Tasmania.
