For many Christians, the workplace is both the main point of regular contact with the unchurched world, and one of the hardest places in which to share the gospel. But while it hasn't all been easy, a small group of Christians at the Sydney head office of Westpac Bank have organised three successful evangelistic events in just over a year, having a major impact on their workplace.

Last month I began to explain the four Mission policies. The first concerns spiritual renewal, and the evidence that it is being put into practice will be the preaching of the word of God followed by offering prayer and intercession for those who don't know Christ. The second policy involves the multiplication of fellowships, congregations and parish churches.

The Anglican Church of Australia's Child Protection Committee has released a long awaited draft code of professional ethics for clergy and lay workers. The code, released last month, gives detailed guidelines on sexual and other behaviour. It is aimed primarily at church workers, but also at congregations and the wider Anglican community.

It's not unusual for films to require their audience to suspend disbelief. Hollywood has asked us to consider Meg Ryan as a surgeon, Arnold Schwarzenegger a scientific genius and Ben Affleck as an intelligent life form. Perhaps even more common than having to suspend disbelief is the requisite deferring of morality. All sorts of immoral activity is engaged in on the silver screen and we are asked to justify or excuse it based on all sorts of spurious logic.

In a society that says the Bible is irrelevant to today's questions, Sydney Missionary and Bible College Press has produced a work that reassures Christians that the exact opposite is the case.
